living in the moment

I just realized that the idea of living in the moment is kind of a crock. It's like, living in the moment is an okay notion, but those moments start piling up and next thing you know you're living in the future that you haven't planned for because you were too busy living in the moment. Maybe living in the moment is for things like skydiving... since that moment could be your last.

That was going to be the end of this post, but it sounds a little gloomy. I don't want this post to be confused for my suicide note or something. Take it as this -- I'm reserving my living-in-the-moment moments for a cool beer on a downtown patio on a summer day. But since it's raining, I'm making plans for the future.
